ARTICLE: In the Face of Death, We Laughed


For Pride month, I wrote about my friend Jake, who died of AIDS two years ago.

His story is a prime reminder of why Pride month is still so very important. Why learning to love yourself and learning to accept others for who they are is not only important, it is critical for human survival. And laughter, which remains the best medicine on hand. There is no need for a straight Pride, but there remains a very real need for LGBT+ Pride. Anyone that says different is a fool.
